In Lord of the Flies the island represents the garden of Eden. It is basically a perfect world corrupted by the arrival of the boys, and the evil they spread. The Pilot who has fallen out of the sky, symbolises the boy's link to the adult world which has broken.
We are currently reading Lord of the Flies in class and we are writing blogs about each chapter. Blog 1: Describe the boy's arrival on the island, from the perspective of one of the boys. Blog 2: Describe the signal fire, and write from the perspective of Piggy. Blog 3: Write from the perspective of Jack, about your views on Ralph's leader ship and Piggy's counsel. Blog 4: Describe the event where Jack catches his first pig, and lets the fire go out from Ralph's perspective.
